“In that moment, Lux felt complete for the first time. He hadn’t even realized anything was missing until he met her, but now, with her curled up in his arms, her hair tickling against his chin, he couldn’t imagine existing without her - Virtue - A Fairy Tale”
“Wendy!” Finn shouted pulling me from my moment with Loki. “What are you doing? You’re married. And not to him.” “Nothing slips by you does it.” Loki asked.”
“Everything’s not exactly the way it seems ” I said. “It seemed like you had your tongue down his throat ” Finn glared at us both. “Well then everything is exactly as it seems ” Loki said glibly.”
“This was good, except that now I had two crazed, burning zombies standing between me and the exit, plus another one that wasn’t on fire. I had not thought this plan through at all.”
“Aurora is right,” Willa said, sounding sad to be agreeing with her.”
“Will you… I mean, do you want to get married?” Tove asked. “To me?”“I, um…” I didn’t know what to say.“If you don’t want to, nothing has to change between us,” Tove said hurriedly. “I asked because it sounds like a good idea to me.”“Yeah,” I said, and I didn’t know what I would say until it was coming out of mouth. “I mean, yes. I do. I will. I would… I’ll marry you.”“Yeah?” Tove smiled hopefully, and I nodded.“Yes.” I swallowed hard and tried to smile back.“Good.” He exhaled and looked back down the hall. “This is good, right?”“Yeah, I think so,” I said, and I did mean that.“Yeah,” he nodded. “I sorta feel like throwing up now, though.”
“I looked at him like he was an idiot, but he didn’t notice. Or maybe he got it so often, he thought that was how people looked at him.”
“You married Elora?”“Yes, briefly.” Oren emphasized how fleeting it had been. “We were wed because we thought it would be a good way to combine our respective kingdoms. Vittra and Trylle have had their disagreements over the years, and we wanted to create peace. Unfortunately, your mother is the most impossible, irrational, horrible woman on the planet.” He smiled at me. “Well, you know. You’ve met her.”
“How had it turned into this? I had lived my whole stupid life without him, and now I could barely make it through the hour.”
“He kissed me desperately, like a drowning man and I was his oxygen.”
“I had called him out on being creepy, justifiably so, and it didn’t faze him at all. He didn’t stammer an apology or flush with shame and regret. He just kept looking at me evenly. Most likely, he was a damn sociopath, and for whatever reason, I found that endearing.”
“I look at you because I can't look away.”
“I am on my way, and tell him he better watch his ass!” Jack shouted, and I held the phone away from ear so it wouldn’t damage my eardrums. “Real mature, Jack,” Peter scoffed”
“-Te voy a dar un consejo: úsalo hoy.-Estás tratando de complacer a demasiada gente y eso es agotador. No puedes ser todo para todos, así que yo intento no ser nada para nadie.-Sólo úsalo un poco y vas a encantar a todo mundo sin siquiera proponértelo.”
“Forever is a really long time, you know? What do you do with forever?""The same thing you do when you don't have forever." He smiled wanly. "Live.”
“A vampire is branding girls, okay?" I ignored his refusal. "Something about that just feels wrong to me.""I would hope so.”
“If Peter Pan had been real, he would've gone mad and killed everyone in Neverland.”
“Are you just gonna stare at Jack or are we gonna go?" Milo asked, poking his head into the bedroom.”
“I tended to hate people that hit me in the head without warning.”
“Just because we don't understand why they'd cover up something doesn't mean they aren't," Bobby said, and we both turned to look at him. "Now you just sound paranoid," I said. "Just because you're paranoid doesn't mean they're not after you," Bobby said with an expression so serious that I couldn't help but laugh.”
“Yeah, but they're PURPLE pants," Bobby said as if that made some kind of distinction. "Hence, I'm awesome.”
“You can't let doubt or fear or guilt eat away at you. You are good and you need to remember that above all else. Love is stronger than hatred, and you are made of love.”
“At that moment I didn't particularly care if a band of raging marauders tried to do her in,but if there were frequent attacks on her "castle," I thought I should know.”
“And I have two eyes. I’ve seen that little melodrama play out between you and that other tracker. Fish? Flounder? What’s his name?”
“Mark my words, Princess,” Loki said. “One day, you’ll be madly in love with me.”
“This is the way the world ends; not with a bang or a whimper, but with zombies breaking down the back door.”
“Cause I lit him on fire,” I shrugged and brushed dust from my pants.”
“While it did smash, breaking a bottle over someone’s head requires a lot more force than movies had led me to believe.”
“Unfortunately, zombies aren’t very flammable, and it went out instantly.”
“It smelled pretty rank, but I was getting used to the smell of death, as much as anyone could get used to it.”
“He hadn’t been peeping intentionally; he’d been trying to sneak into my room. So that was slightly less creepy, I supposed.”
“The desperation was coming off you in waves. You were all but begging to dance with me. I am doing you a favor.”
“the way it always did.”
“That’s kind of creepy,”
“No! If you die, I die! You asked me to spend forever with you, and I'm going to!”
“I'm not all you need, and I don't even want to be. I just want to love you, for the rest of my life, and as long as you let me do that, we'll be okay.”
“You could kill me, Alice, he looked at me seriously. That's how much you mean to me. As foolish and masochistic as that makes me, you are so much to me that even if it destroys me to be with you, I'll be with you!”
“How did I look at you? I asked thickly. Like you had to, like I was a magnet you were pulled to. There was no choice, he said. And when you look at Jack, it's because when he's around, why would you want to look at anything else? You love him the way you could never love me.”
“Because you're here with me, Jack said. Any night that ends with that can't be that bad”
“I loved Jack because of every little thing about him. The way he laughed, the way he made me smile, the way he'd stay up until nine in the morning watching zombie movies he'd seen a hundred times, and the way he could never hold a grudge. I loved him because I loved him, not because it was fate or destiny or in my blood, We had chosen each other, and that felt more powerful and more magical.”
“I need to call Matt and let him know I'm okay," I said. Finn held the passenger door open while I got inside. As soon as he got in the driver's seat, I turned to him. "Well? Can I call him?""You really want to?" Finn asked as he started the car."Yes, of course I do! Why is that so suprising?”
“When something is important to you, you make sure its safe.”
“But you're the hardest thing I've ever done, and you're also the best. So... I think that's the moral of the story here. Anything worth having is worth fighting for.”
“Yeah, you're probably right," I admitted and slowly pulled myself out from underneath the covers. "You know, I really wish you'd catch onto the fact that I'm always right.”
“You don't want me here, I don't wanna be here, so why am I here?”
“When you dance with the devil, the devil doesn't change. The devil changes you.”
“I don't care where I come from or who you are. I can make you happy, and you make me happy. We could have a happily ever after.”
“I predict a long reign ahead of you. Years of being referred to as Your Majesty, Your Grace, Your Excellence, My Liege, My Queen, My Lovely.” “I don’t think that last one is a formal title,” I said. “It should be.”
“My only experience with dances was what I had seen on TV, but it really wasn’t that far off. The theme appeared to be “Crepe Paper in the Gymnasium,” and they had mastered it perfectly.”
“Fine. Whatever. I don’t. Nobody understands your pain, Mae. Because it is so unique! Nobody’s ever loved something so much they would do anything to save it, except for you, Mae. You cornered that market!”
