Annie Brown

My name is Annie Clara Brown. Currently, I am providing Individual and Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for the Mentally Ill Populations. One of my goals while providing emotional support and positive regard to clients is to educate patients, families , and communities about Mental Health. It is important that patients , families, and communities understand that Mental Illnesses are "medical conditions" and should be treated as such. Hopefully with education and awareness it will remove the "stigma" that has for too long been associated with those who suffer Mental Illness. If there is a Mental Health need I pray that the person who is suffering or a concerned citizen will reach out to a professional to get help for the individual so that another family does not have to suffer the loss of a family member to "suicide or homicide." Learn the signs and symptoms of Depression and be willing to be your brother or sister keeper. More of my skills and areas of expertise include providing emotional and grief support to patients and their families. I received my Masters in Social Work from the University of Alabama with a Concentration in children, adolescents, and families. I am passionate about serving my Lord and Savior Jesus Christ and my church (Joyful Noise AOH Church of God in Sylacauga, Alabama) where I serve as a licensed minister and secretary under Bishop Johnnie L. Woods Jr. I am definitely family oriented and enjoy spending quality time with my children, grandchildren, and great-grand children.
