Antonin Carême

Marie-Antoine (or Antonin) Carême was one of the first celebrity chefs, "le roi des chefs et le chef des rois" (the king of chefs and the chef of kings). He is known for developing influential styles of cookery and pastry making. He considered cooking to be a branch of architecture.
