One day, while in middle school, April Michelle Davis’s heartstrings turned away from numbers and captured the essence of grammar. As her newfound passion developed, her already cultivated fascination with princesses intensified, and April Michelle soon found herself writing A Princess in Disguise. Since then, true to the theme, she became a queen, married a king, and bore a prince. Even with the passage of time, this book has remained her first literary love, and now she is ready to share it with the world.
April Michelle earned a master’s degree in publishing from George Washington University and a bachelor’s degree in English from Messiah College. April Michelle also holds the following certificates: editing (University of Virginia), book publishing (University of Virginia), and professional editing (EEI Communications).
As an editor herself, April Michelle enjoys attending and participating in writers’ conferences and workshops and helping writers with their literary pursuits. She often speaks at association meetings, writers’ groups, conferences, and colleges about writing and editing. April Michelle takes this honor seriously and pays it forward by sharing her knowledge with others. In addition, she has won writing contests, and books she has edited have won awards as well. April Michelle has lived in Richmond, Virginia, since 2007 and is originally from Northern Virginia.
