ARLENE SANDERS is an Appalachian Mountain writer. She is a native of Virginia and a lifelong Southerner. Sanders received Pushcart Prize nominations for "Fire and Ice" and "Wish You Were Here." Her first story collection, TIGER BURNING BRIGHT, was honored as a Finalist in the Jefferson Press Prize for Best New Voice in Fiction Competition.
