barbara M zavaleta, aka PunkRockTacos, surrealist author of the supercharged combustion series, was born in Hollywood, CA growing up in central california and southern orange county beaches to finally place her anchor back in the City of Angels. she aspired at an early age to be a writer and started the first draft of supercharged combustion volume I at the tender age of 14, completing at 28 and self-publishing at 36.

her storytelling is constructed primarily in prose with a raw, unedited and surreal tone along with lovely undertones of erotica and masochism illustrating the extremes in emotions. she tends to refer to her work as grayscale allowing the reader to create their own colors in the stories.

her inspiration comes from experiences, music, art, film and of course Los Angeles, which is a consistent backdrop in her stories. you will often find the accompanying musical playlist she refers to as her writing soundtrack for each book and encourages her readers to refer to while reading.

when she isn’t writing the next volume in her series, she has a very full life with her 3 precocious children, one of which illustrates her books, and her Jewelry Artist husband, who has designed a silver charm line for her books.

her time is spent being an entrepreneur, architecting web platforms, thinking about her next tattoo, taking pictures of the moon, singing, reading compulsively and watching way too much animation. she is obsessed with the number 7, roman numerals, mythology, latin and the moon. you can catch her on the weekend playing on the xbox or visiting local museums with her family.
