After graduating from Indiana University with a BA in English Literature, I began a career in sales. I decided to journal the things I was teaching to my salespeople everyday, which resulted in my first book, Congratulations! You're a Millionaire.
Then, when my kids were young, I read to them some of the old Matt Christopher sports novels I had loved when I was a boy. I realized that, as great as those were, they seemed archaic, and I set out to create youth sports novels with more moden themes. The Season's Not Over, Hanging In There, Time for Willy and The Unbelievable Point Guard are the result.
As my children were growing, I coached them in all their youth sports, and especially in baseball. Winning Secrets, my "how-to" book on coaching is recognized as the premier baseball coaches' guide.
Now, my novel, Him takes me in a completely new direction. Told from the point of view of the optimistic and good dog, Scout, Him is touching, funny and thought-provoking. While technically in the Young Adult category, it will be enjoyed by any gender, any age.
