I write speculative fiction ranging from the mysterious to the macabre; often blending science fiction, fantasy, alternative history and horror. I’m a regular contributor to podcasts, seminars and conferences, and conducts webinars and workshops on my specialty, retro-punk fiction (Steampunk, Dieselpunk).

My first published novel, Tiger Paw, won the 2012 Royal Palm Literary Award for Best Thriller from the Florida Writers Association.

My dieselpunk work, DragonFly, a retro-futuristic collision of science fiction and fantasy, was a 2014 Royal Palm Literary Award Finalist in Science Fiction and won the 2018 Reader’s Favorite Silver Medal in the YA/Action category.

My short stories and novellas have appeared in the anthologies, The Prometheus Saga, Return To Earth and In Shadows Written. My Prometheus Saga science fiction story Crystal Night won the FWA Royal Palm Literary Award for Best Novella in 2016.

A survivor of thirty-nine years of BigCorp dysfunction, I now live in a small village in North Lincolnshire UK. I've learned a lot about BigCorps, their dysfunctional cultures & how to survive them! One of my newest books is A Survivor’s Guide To Working At A Big Corporation. You can follow my views of BigCorps at www.BigCorpSurvivor.com.

“One day you see a man walking down the road, the next day you come to his yard and find him dead... Why is it that he cannot do what the living do? It is because the thing that gave power to these parts is no longer there. That is the duppy, and that is the most powerful part of any man. Everybody has evil in them, and when a man is alive... he will not abandon himself to many evil things. But when the duppy leaves the body, it no longer has anything to restrain it and it will do more terrible things than any man ever dreamed of.- From 'Tell My Horse: Voodoo and Life in Haiti and Jamaica', Zora Neale Hurston, 1938”
