ROUGH START (2021) is a humorous whodunnit and book 1 of the RESORT OF LAST RESORT series. It introduces us to Edie Fisker, a “normal” Minnesotan struggling to discover a “normal” life. But her rambunctious son and flakey husband make normal difficult. After her uncle's death, Edie inherits a lake resort in northern Minnesota. They try to fit in to the quirky little town, but things get complicated when she learns her uncle’s death was murder. The local Norwegian men's club isn’t making it easy, either!

THE CHURCH COOKBOOK CAPER (2022) is the second book in the series, and in it, Edie finds herself getting involved (reluctantly) in the church cookbook. Even worse than having a bossy friend drive her nuts is the night Edie finds the recipe lady murdered.

Chaunce‘s third novel, GRAVE OF SONGS (2020), blends family drama, suspense, and historical fiction. Set in 1888 Minnesota, it's definitely not Little House on the Prairie.

His second novel, BLANK SLATE BOARDING HOUSE FOR CREATIVES (2013), is a dark a historical- fantasy set in 1922 when the world's greatest mind control magician returns to a boarding house for creative types. And he has scores to settle with Harry Houdini. Who will be the world's greatest magician?
