Born, raised, and still residing in Vancouver, Daniel has been worked as an ER Physician at St. Paul’s Hospital for the past twenty years. He is also the author of fourteen published novels, which have been translated into thirteen languages.

In his latest novel, HIGH SOCIETY, Dr. Holly Danvers is not only a rising star in the world of psychiatry but also a trauma survivor who’s own life was saved as a teen through an ayahuasca retreat to Peru. Now, twenty years later, she’s using cutting edge psychedelic therapy (which many colleagues, including her own husband, view as too aggressive) to cure addiction where all other treatments have failed. But one specific group consisting of seven VIP clients hiding highly destructive addictions will challenge Holly’s beliefs, dredge up memories of her father’s fatal car accident, and threaten to crash her entire world around her.

Daniel received his B.Sc. and MD from the University of British Columbia, where he is now a clinical associate professor. He is the proud father of two girls and a poorly behaved but lovable mutt, Milo.

“Simon shook his head. ‘The Nazis in Germany…the Japanese here in Shanghai…Treating people as less than human because of the shape of their faces or the sound of their names. Sometimes it feels like the whole damn world is unraveling.”
