David Batchelor is a physicist and science writer. His first science fiction novel, The Metalmark Contract, was published in 2011 by Black Rose Writing. Copies are currently available from the author at $14 plus shipping cost for the trade paperback (248 pages).

Dr. Batchelor is employed as a Computer Engineer at the NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in Greenbelt, Maryland. He has published numerous scientific articles in journals such as The Astrophysical Journal. He has taught at the University of Maryland. The Metalmark Contract is his first published novel.
