Esther Warner Dendel

An eclectic craftswoman and collector, Esther Seitmann Warner Dendel (1910-2002) was also a respected teacher and author of 13 books.

Born near Laurel, Iowa, on Feb. 2, 1910; studied at the University of Iowa; spent six years teaching home arts and crafts in Appalachian West Virginia during the Depression; lived in Africa during the Second World War; married Jo Dendal in 1950; died in Costa Mesa, California.
