Faith Reese Martin

Author Faith Reese Martin grew up in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, an area rich in early American history. Having taught fourth and fifth graders in public school for thirty years, she finds some of the best mysteries and adventures to share with children are those told in the history of America.

Faith also has a heart over-flowing with love for nature and all of its creatures. The ocean and the woodlands, dogs, cats, and other critters–all play a large role within the settings of her stories.

The author enjoys the meticulous research involved in creating historical fiction. She is especially excited when lesser-known historical facts come together to form a framework for a new story.

These interests inspired Faith to create a series of historical adventure novels designed for young adult readers, entitled the JMP Mystery Series. Psychic teens Jinx MacKenzie and Max Myers, and their sidekicks Petey, the Jack Russell terrier, and Poppy, the ginger-colored cat, hop aboard the Time Tunnel to return to America’s past, where they help colorful characters in history.

White Doe in the Mist–The Mystery of the Lost Colony, tells the haunting story of England’s Lost Colony. In Ghost Train to Freedom–An Adventure on the Underground Railroad, the gang meets courageous, enslaved African Americans who seek freedom using the Underground Railroad.

Faith holds a B.S. degree from Mansfield University, Mansfield, Pennsylvania, and a Masters degree from Millersville University, Millersville, Pennsylvania, both in elementary education. When not buried in a suspenseful mystery book, Faith enjoys playing alto sax in a ’40s Big Band and hand bells in her church choir. She resides in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania, with her husband, Robert, and her two dogs, Archie and Lady.
