Gerardo Gainesbernard
Born Gerardo Anthony Gaines-Bernard (aka Gerardo LTD Bernard) in Northridge California to Mary Gainesbernard and Gerardo Bernard. He was enrolled in Valley Trinity Christian School, which later became New Horizons after his 6th-grade year where he performed in multiple school plays taking on many leadership roles from Joseph to King Jehoshaphat. He would travel alongside his parents who toured alongside the Donna Summer Band.
During his young adult years, he explored many talents, many of which came from desperation. In an interview in college, he stated,” Middle school was figuring out how to escape getting into a gang by any means, I was 6 ft. tall and 150 lbs. I found my way out, it was with a pen and a pad, I was the Cyrano of Northridge California. Gang members got dates and I got to get to class!”
A promising athlete in high school he competed in the JV and Varsity Swim Team under Coach Jim Cromwell at Cleveland High School in Reseda California. He credits Jim Cromwell mentoring in the pools through rigorous training and Ms. Hall in 9th Grade English pushing him in every way she could imagine as to why he believed he could achieve anything with hard work and diligence. She challenged his writing, writing styles, and the boundaries of his imagination. Ms. Hall challenge his perceptions of what he was capable of and made him push them to new limits, and never allowed failure.
After 9/11 rocked his life he enlisted and served his country both at home and abroad and that has come at great personal and physical cost. He ultimately sustained injuries from protecting another airman. After receiving an Honorable Discharge from the United States Air Force he returned home and continued to write and pursue the arts while navigating through the Latin music and television industry.
Gerardo would open a publishing company out of Florida. He released his first title Hidden In The Vineyard selling over 380,000 copies worldwide and counting. He toured intermittently throughout the years releasing additional editions and versions. He primarily rights children's books he bravely ventured into a semi-autobiographical romance novel “ The Officer is not the Gentleman which garnered him access to a different audience. And allowed him to pursue other means of engaging his growing fanbase.
His most outstanding achievement would come as a benefit from his marriage to his current wife Monica Bernard, which would result in two wonderful children. They have been his inspiration to find exciting ways to create and tell stories and achieve new goals set for himself. Such as higher Education and the pursuit of his dreams, which he continues today.
