James Phelan

He was a newspaper reporter and a prolific contributor to magazines for over 60 years. His best-selling book was 'Howard Hughes: The Hidden Years'.

He died of lung cancer in Temecula and was survived by his wife of 52 years, Amalie, and two daughters, Judith and Janet.
