Judith Johnson was born in New Haven, Connecticut. She graduated from Southern Connecticut State University in 1981 with a bachelor of arts degree in English. She has been a teacher, newspaper editor, and independent real estate broker.
Judith Johnson began writing Interminable Longing in 2001 out of a desire for an alternative plot to, ‘woman seeks man, man runs, woman catches man.’ In this alternative plot, ‘woman seeks woman, woman runs…woman finds self’ and a whole lot more.
The first edition was published in November 2006, and approximately 400 copies of that edition were distributed. Since then, the original novel has shrunk from approximately 95,960 to 83,300 words. Aside from the original smaller, vignette style sections, the book is further organized into four, approximately fifty-page parts. Much of the novel has been rewritten for tighter construction.
The second edition is scheduled for publication in May 2008, and the books will be available by June 1st.
Judith Johnson’s short story “Orion’s Belt” was published in January 2008 by Alyson Books in Ultimate Lesbian Lesbian Erotica 2008. This story will be included in her second book titled, Just Desserts, a collection of her short stories. Publication date for this book has not yet been determined.
