Larry Atchley Jr.

Larry Atchley, Jr grew up in Grapevine, Texas, writing stories and poetry since he was a teenager. He became serious about publishing his fiction writing after attending a writers’ workshop presented by authors Sarah A. Hoyt and Amanda S. Green in 2010, which boosted his confidence enough to try getting his work into print. His first big break as a writer came when authors Janet Morris and Chris Morris invited him to join their group collaborating on a shared world anthology for the Heroes in Hell series and asked him to submit a story for the book. They accepted “Remember, Remember, Hell in November” and published it in Lawyers in Hell in June 2011. He has stories in the following anthologies: Sha’Daa Pawns, Shada: Facets, Rogues in Hell, Dreamers in Hell, Poets in Hell, What Scares the Boogeyman, Terror by Gaslight, Dark Corners, and poems in the collections A Book of Night, and Klarissa Dreams. He is currently writing short stories for various anthologies and working on a couple of fantasy novels. In 2012 Larry was also inducted into the fiction authors group The Fictioneers.

He also performs with the group The Seadog Slam which perform original pirate poetry and songs at various events in North Texas. Some of his other interests include tea, Qi-Gong Kung Fu martial arts, traditional archery, fencing, philosophy, mythology, paranormal investigation, photography, role playing games, bicycling, hiking, reading, and collecting books. His daughter Alina Atchley is an artist and custom soap and candle maker. He lives with his wife Ali, who is a writer and artist, and his step-daughter Leila in the suburbs of the Dallas/Fort Worth Metroplex, in Texas.
