Lee Mandel is a retired US Navy physician, historian, and author. His latest book is "Sterling Hayden's Wars"- an authorized biography of the late film star, author, and war hero Sterling Hayden, that will be released by the University Press of Mississippi in May 2018. His prior two books are "Moryak: A Novel of the Russian Revolution" and Unlikey Warrior: A Pacifist Rabbi's Journey from the Pulpit to Iwo Jima".
