Leo Burnett was an advertising executive who created the famous advertising campaigns like the Jolly Green Giant, the Marlboro Man, Toucan Sam, Charlie the Tuna, Morris the Cat, the Pillsbury Doughboy, the 7up “Spot”, and Tony the Tiger. Burnett was known for his gentle manners, humor, credibility and a disdain for research. He was also known for acting against the usual norms and creating original icons. His advertising campaigns became famous for depicting the American values of strength, tradition, comfort, and family. Burnett was named as one of the 100 influential people of the 20th century by the Time magazine.
