As much as I love to read and write, my greatest joy is when I see a child or an adult enjoying something I’ve written. To reach large numbers of children, I developed my own literacy program where, as the Storybook Princess, I visited hundreds of schools promoting literacy. I dressed as a princess, complete with Cinderella gown, tiara, bejeweled slippers and rhinestone jewelry! Accompanied by my dolls, Wanda and Rhonda, we tried to instill a love of reading in young children. In conjunction with my visits I self- published The Ah-Chooo Book and The Grumpy Queen. Nothing made me happier than the smiles on their faces when they read my books.
I work as a standardized patient at two medical schools and love portraying a variety of illnesses! I like to think I am playing a small part in helping medical students improve their clinical and communication skills. Because of my personal experiences, I was inspired to write a non-fiction book entitled Doctor, Are You Listening? with N.Y.C. reproductive endocrinologist, Dr. Masood Khatamee.
Happily married to my high school sweetheart, we have two daughters and four wonderful grandchildren. We share our time between Amherst, New York and Florida. When I’m not writing, I enjoy reading, traveling (I have two nieces in Switzerland) and playing Mahjong.
