Born on September 11th 1977, Ludovic Hubler is the son of Monique and Jacques Hubler and the brother of the consultant Eric Hubler and the photograph Marc Hubler.
Passionate by football and geography, he grows up in Wasselonne and Obernai in Alsace region East of France.
In June 2002, he graduates from the Business School of Strasbourg with a Master of Science in Management.
At the end of this Master, believing that discovering the realities of the world was a pre-requisite before entering the work market, Ludovic Hubler decided to start a tour of the world, using hitchhiking as his only means of transportation.
This adventure, that he baptized his "life Phd", lasted 5 years (2003-2008). From "sailing-boat hitchhiking" to cross Atlantic and Pacific oceans to "Ice breaker hitchhiking" to reach Antarctica, from crossing the Sahara desert to countries like Colombia and Afghanistan, he used his thumb in all kinds of possible and imaginable situations.
His encounters were as numerous as diverse. Among the most striking were his encounter with Tenzin Gyatso, His Highness the XIVth Dalaï-lama, who received him in his home in Dharamsala (India) but also the thousands of students from all corners of the world who he shared his story with.
5 years, 170,000 kilometers travelled, 59 countries visited, hundreds of lectures given and the help of over 1,300 drivers give an idea of the richness of his trip, a trip that was shared on a daily basis with kids victims of cancer from the Hospital of Strasbourg, France.
