Maija Haavisto

I am a Finnish author, translator, medical writer, journalist and playwright, focusing primarily on writing both fiction and non-fiction (from both medical and social perspectives) about chronic illnesses. I invented the genre "cripfic" to describe my first three novels: a genre where disabled people are seen neither as villains nor inspiring heroes, but normal people with normal dreams and faults.

I am very much looking to sell translation rights of my books!
