Michael Eckers

Recently retired from more than 30 years of federal service, Michael writes and speaks on young people in America's past. A good example is Henry McCollum, a 16-year old from Wisconsin who decides to put his own life on hold and enlists to defend the Union in 1861. Serving in the Second Wisconsin, part of the famed Iron Brigade, Henry is a seasoned combat veteran before he turns 17. Check out his story in "Wisconsin Iron" by Michael Eckers.

Michael served in the US Navy during the closing days of Vietnam and currently resides in southern Minnesota.
