M.J. Chrisman

Micah Chrisman graduated from the University of Central Missouri with a Master of Arts in Mass Communication in 2015 where he studied the social movement rhetoric of Ferguson and Black Lives Matter. As a result, he worked for Communities Creating Opportunity as their digital communications and data manager, organizing around issues such as racial equity, livable wages, fair lending, and more. He then transitioned to a digital communications role for the City of Kansas City, Missouri Health Department, educating and collaborating with community partners around racial health disparities and social determinants of life expectancy. In addition to doing anti-racism organizing with The Open Table KC, he currently works as a communications consultant and community organizer in Kansas City, MO. On Saturday mornings, Micah enjoys wilderness adventures with his doggo Raylah, as well as writing short stories and novels.
