Owen O'Brien

Owen O'Brien is a vivid writer and forward thinker who was born in Manhattan in 1982 and grew up in central New Jersey. He returned to New York to attend college at NYU in 2000 and began work on Shiver Shake during his third year at the school, continuing to revise the novel until its publication in 2010.

During the writing of Shiver Shake and beyond, Owen has worked in the Business Intelligence field for internet companies like Yahoo!, Monster Worldwide, and Business Insider. An avid hiker and aspiring mountaineer, Owen dreams of climbing the Seven Summits, and has begun the journey by reaching the summit of Mt. Kilimanjaro in August 2012. These challenging and humbling adventures will undoubtedly be excellent source material for future novels.

Owen currently lives in Brooklyn and works in Manhattan, supported by a wonderful partner and a lively dog named Louie. Shiver Shake is his first attempt at the Great American Novel.
