Patti Barone has a Master of Arts in Theological Studies from Ashland Theological Seminary. She enjoys weaving theological topics throughout her stories of faith, hope, and love. She lives in Northeast Ohio and works at Ashland Theological Seminary. She's also an adjunct instructor in College of Theology, Arts, and Sciences at Malone University.

The most important thing about me is that I gave my life to God in the spring of 1991. In 2001, after years of taking baby steps and drinking lots of spiritual milk, I learned about the gifts of the Holy Spirit, which changed the course of my Christian walk. Soon after, I decided to enter Seminary because I felt called to teach Theology at a Christian college. I graduated from Ashland Theological Seminary in June 2006 with a Master of Arts in Theological Studies. In the fall of 2006, I began teaching as an adjunct in the College of Theology, Arts and Sciences at Malone University.

When I am not teaching or writing, I enjoy watching lots of sports, especially football! When I can drag myself off the couch, I like to go for walks, bike, read, and work in my yard. I have two adorable cats, Emma and Shadow. I have an amazing array of friends from all walks of life. I have one wonderful man in my life who wishes to remain anonymous! But, I will tell you that he designed my book cover and this website.

I wrote Divine Possibilities with many people in mind. For anyone suffering from an addiction who doesn’t know the way out, my prayer is that you find hope within these pages. For those who have loved ones suffering from an addictive lifestyle and are affected by their choices, I pray that God will comfort you and send an angel to guide you. For those who know God, but still have lots of questions, my wish is that the theology within my book may inspire you to think deeply about God.

Finally, I want to take this opportunity to share my understanding of salvation. All humans are made in the image of God, but we all fall short of that image due to sin in whatever form it takes in our lives. Sin also damages our relationship with God. Unfortunately, there is nothing we can do to repair that relationship on our own power. God did all the work by sending Himself in the form of Jesus to teach us the way and then to become the way. Through his own sacrifice, God’s grace can reach into our hearts and cleanse us from all that stands against him. Our part is to acknowledge our sinfulness and to accept God’s sacrifice. Then the real fun begins! We learn how to live in the shadow of God’s love and in the confines of his will. That’s going to be the topic of my next book, Divine Perseverance.

I pray that God will provide all that you need.

Blessings
