Peter Marino's first young adult novel Dough Boy, about a fat and self-conscious but very funny high school sophomore, was published by Holiday House. School Library Journal called it “funny but heart-wrenching...The ending is hopeful as the teen regains his humor and discovers how much he enjoys cross-country skiing. A priority purchase for all libraries serving teens.”

Marino is also the co-author of the full length play The Grandma Show, which has has been produced all over the United States, and the author of several one-acts. His ten-minute play "Ralph Smith of Schenectady, New York’s Coming-Out-To-His-Wife Options," has been produced in the 9th Annual New York City 15 Minute Play Festival, the Samuel French 2003 Short Play Festival, and SlamBoston! 2005. Another one-act, "The Good Samaritan" (with the same protagonist as "Ralph Smith"), won first place in SlamBoston! 2006.
