River Urke has the heart of a poet and the eyes of an artist. She lives along the St Croix Valley in Minnesota with her daughter Willow and her boyfriend Tommy.
River is a published poet, author, artist, and an entrepreneur of publishing. She is the founder/publisher of The River Muse and Twowolvz Press.
River’s first publication, Stumbled & Standing, is a collection of poetry and essay focused on life with Multiple Sclerosis. Her second publication, Women’s Obsession with Shoes, is a creative non-fiction of the stories women tell through shoes. Her poetry has been published on various journals online and she is a contributor in the Poets United Anthology, Thoughts That Breathe. River's most recent publication, when spirits touch, is a collaborative of duel poetry and photography with Charles Martin.
River's poetic writings and artistic touches reflect her Ojibwe and Celtic heritages along with the ponderings of a thirty something American mother.
