Robert G. DeMers has a B.A. in Theatre/Drama from UNC-Greensboro and a B.A. in Special Education, from UNC-Wilmington with a concentration in Behavioral and Emotional Disorders.
He studied play writing under Alan Cook (East of Eden) at UNC-G, and his murder/mystery/comedy play, Murder Was Called For was produced by the Montage Ensemble Showcase (Nathan Freeman), at the Artistic Studio Theatre (Janice Price) in Winston-Salem, NC.
Robert has performed on stage under the direction of Brack Llewellyn at the Andy Griffith Theatre where he won an ‘Opie Award” and has performed in the Sword of Peace and The Pathway to Freedom, historical dramas, at Snow Camp, NC.
Robert became assistant Technical Director under Kacy Woody at the High Point Theatre in High Point, NC before becoming a teacher.
He has worked with troubled teens at the New Hanover County Juvenile Day Treatment Center in Wilmington.
Mr. DeMers has completed two murder mysteries, The Stolen Concept and The Iceman. He is working on a third mystery using the same characters who were in the first two novels. The third story will take place in Wilmington, NC where he conducted a writers workshop, hosted by Barnes & Noble.
His third novel, Making a Killing, will be released in early 2013.
