Robert Graetz

Robert Sylvester Graetz Jr. was an American Lutheran minister and civil rights activist who in 1955 was assigned as the pastor of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church (Old ALC), an African-American congregation in Montgomery, Alabama. Pastor Graetz, who was a personal friend of Rosa Parks, was the only "white" clergyman who stood with and supported not only Mrs. Parks but also Dr. Martin Luther King Jr., Rev. Ralph Abernathy and the African-American community during the Montgomery Bus Boycott.
