Saşa Pană (the literary pseudonym of Alexandru Binder) was one of the main Romanian avant-garde poets. He was the leader of the most important Surrealist review, "unu" ("one"), and also ran a publishing house with the same name. Initially associated with Dadaism and Surrealism, he will migrate to Socialist Realism in the '40s, but later in his life, he will return to Surrealism and even make an anthology of the Romanian avant-garde movement.
