S.L. Coelho

Fiction author S.L. Coelho, enjoys thrilling readers and scaring them 'just a little'. She grew up in southern Manitoba entertaining her younger siblings with tall tales. Spurred on by English teachers, these tales grew into written works, which usually found a home in her high school locker. She continued to write stories, and keep journals of ideas, and inspiration.

With the support and prompting of her husband, she published Black Loon Lake. Her love of books came from her grandparents' small classics library; in grade school she read the works of Kipling, Melville, Burroughs, Stevenson, Verne, Poe, Twain, et al.

After University, she held management positions where the majority of her work involved technical writing. Most recently, she was employed as a preschool teacher by her city’s Community Services Literacy program. S.L. Coelho resides in British Columbia with her husband, and two youngest children. She is a member of The Independent Author Network.
