Susan Pease Banitt

Susan Pease Banitt, LCSW is a social worker and psychotherapist who specializes in the treatment of severe trauma and PTSD. She has worked in the field of mental health for more than four decades in diverse settings and teaches classes on healing from trauma in Portland, Oregon. She is the author of The Trauma Tool Kit: Healing PTSD from the Inside Out (Quest, 2012) written to help people heal from traumatic experiences. Her new book Wisdom, Attachment and Love in Trauma Therapy: Beyond Evidence Based Practice (Routledge, 2018) teaches psychotherapists how to be with clients in a way that helps them heal regardless of technique. Susan lives with her family and numerous pets in the beautiful Pacific Northwest. In her spare time she loves to hike, garden and make people laugh doing improvisational comedy.
