I've been in love with books since I was a small child. Those beautiful storybooks opened up a whole new world for me. Then when I could read them on my own, wow, I was off and running. I read everything I could get my hands on. As a small child I dreamed of being an author, so now I'm living a dream come true.
I write everything, from short stories and poetry to novellas and novels, not to mention Tweeting, blogging and emailing. You get the picture, I just love to write.
I particularly love writing contemporary romances, paranormal romances and mainstream fiction. It's been so exciting to offer my first four books for others to read. Thank you so much to all my readers. It's wonderful being able to share my books with you.
"Bayou Blues and Other Sorrows" is a collection of short stories and poems about life and the many issues all of us may face at one time or another. The stories and poems range from lost love to life changing decisions to moments of pure joy.
"Outback Love" is a contemporary romance novel set in Australia and into the Outback. A three week, 5000 mile trip through the Outback was the inspiration for this novel. I hope you'll enjoy reading "Outback Love" as much as I enjoyed writing it.
"Jetting Away" is a short story prequel to "Outback Love." The two can be read as stand-alone books, but I hope you'll choose to read both.
"Moon Over Madness," a paranormal novella, is a light-hearted fun read which I hope everyone will enjoy. It's all about witches, vampires, ghosts and other-beings, plus a dog named Jake.
I was born and raised in southern California where I grew up learning to surf (usually under the board), scuba dive (at Catalina Island), water-ski (in lakes, rivers and even the ocean), snow-ski (in local mountains and out of state locales), and ride horses (I had two, Sebastian and Chantilly). I was mostly a tom-boy and spent much of my time climbing trees and playing baseball, though I did have a cute boyfriend now and then.
My husband and I were next door neighbors when we were kids. No, we didn't date during our school years, but we did eventually meet up again as adults. We fell in love at Mardi Gras in New Orleans and married in Reno. In our many years of marriage we've moved back and forth across the country. We've lived in California, Florida, Nevada, Georgia and Texas. After retiring we moved back to Florida near the sugar-white-sand beaches and turquoise waters of the Gulf Coast. A couple months ago we made a major lifestyle change and moved to New Mexico. Ahh, this is a beautiful place to be retired.
I love reading (everything), writing books (mostly romances), blogging, painting (landscapes and still-lifes in acrylics or oils), photography (digital), travel (when we can afford it), going to the beach (only a couple miles away), getting together with friends and family (whenever possible), and playing with my three young grandkids (full of energy) and two rescue dogs (Jazzy and Finn), not necessarily in that order.
Oh, did I mention that I have a B.A. in English? I'm a Cal Poly grad. I went there because of all the beautiful Arabian horses, not because of those hunky aggie cowboys. Yeah, right!
Thanks so much to all who decide to try out a new author and read my books. It's wonderful being able to share my stories with you. I love hearing from my readers. You can follow me on Twitter (@TeriHeyer) and enjoy my blog posts at teriheyer.blogspot.com.
I'm currently working on a romantic suspense set in Las Vegas where I lived for many years. I think it's a novel you'll really enjoy. I hope to have it available in early spring.
