What was the very first thing that moved you? For some it may be your’ first kiss, still for others it may be your’ first love; for me it was Vincent VanGoghs’ ‘Starry Night’.

I was still very young, yet my Great Grandmother, “Grandma”, saw something I could not yet see. Over the next 20 years I would begin to develop and hone that first spark I felt all those years ago.

Was it lust? Or was it something deeper, something visceral? That question, along with my undying thirst for knowledge, at times for justice in an unjust world, fueled me into becoming the woman I am today.

Passionately expressive, driven, stubborn at times. I’ve always sought more, more meaning, more out of the things I see with my eyes yet I want to know why.

When I found poetry, I then began to express those thoughts, which developed into my love of writing. My Grandma always taught me that ‘Nothing worth having was ever going to be easy, and that nothing easy was worth having”.

I do hope that as you explore my writing you will find the same passion I bring to my life on the pages of my books. Whether a book or a canvas, it is my hope to translate that drive, and passion into everything I do!

Until the next time,

Ursula
