“You love me?”He answered without hesitation. “With everything I am, baby doll, and everything I’m meant to be.”
“God, Maggie.” He whispered, leaning forward, capturing my mouth with his. “I love you more than anything. With everything that I am.” He answered me. Okay, I was done for.”
“I’ve always loved you.” A shudder worked through him, and he pulled her closer. “I’ve always wanted you. They don’t have a word for how much I need you. Everything good I am, everything good I’ve ever done…it’s all you. You make me a king. Without you, I’m just another psychotic thug.”
“Why are you hunting down Noah?”Without hesitation, he gave me an answer that made the world tilt under my feet.“He took a piece of you. I’m gonna findhim and get it back.”
“Then I said it. He said it too. I love you. And everything that went before meant nothing.”
“What is bad? What is good? What should one love, what hate? Why live, and what am I? What is lie, what is death? What power rules over everything?" he asked himself. And there was no answer to any of these questions except one, which was not logical and was not at all an answer to these questions. This answer was: "You will die--and everything will end. You will die and learn everything--or stop asking.”
