“I snatched the paper away from Dopey."Hey," he yelled. "I was reading that!""Let somebody who can pronounce all the big words have a try," I said.”

“They just kept grinning at me from over the stupid sign, Dopey becausehe's too dumb to know any better, Doc because – well, I guess because he might have been glad to seeme. Doc's weird that way. Sleepy, the oldest, just stood there, looking … well, sleepy.”

“You know," I said, holding my ground. "I gotta tell you. The goatee thing? Yeah, way over. And you know a little jewelry really does go a long way. Just something you might want to consider. I'm actually glad you stopped by, because I have a couple things I've been meaning to say to you. Number one,about your wife? Yeah, she's a skank. And number two, you know that whole thing where you killed Jesse and then buried his remains out back there? Yeah, way un-cool.”

“I will love you, Meena," he said fiercely, "until the end of time. I will never stop loving you. My life, before I met you, was nothing. Can you understand that? My life was nothing, meant nothing, even if I may not have known it. And then you came along, and suddenly, everything I knew, or thought I knew, was turned upside down. So whether you choose to be one with me or not, I will go on loving you, Meena, even after you are a rotting corpse in the ground. “Oh, that's just great. I come all the way back here, risking major brain cell burnout, and you don't even believe me? I'm basically guaranteeing myself a lifetime of heartbreak, and all you have to say is that you think I'm not right in the head?”
