“I tried opening the door to the car again, forgetting the darned thing would not open. “You need to get this door fixed,” I nagged. “It’s not broken, my lovely,” David grinned. “Then why won’t it open?” “Child locks to keep the princess from opening the door herself.” He gave me a crooked smile. “Oh,” I blushed.”

“David caught me as my legs gave out from under me. “Careful,” he smiled, “I’m lethal.”

“I love you, David. I’m sorry for not telling you, but I’ve loved you since the first time I saw you. I’m sorry I hurt you when all you ever did was love me. I need you to forgive me before . . .” I reached out for David with my left hand, “before it’s over.”

“You look a little flushed,” he expressed in a pompous tone. I couldn’t believe he called me on it. “Do you need me to pull over?” What a pretentious ass! He knew exactly why I was red in the face. I was from embarrassment. I clenched my jaw trying to keep my composure.”

“I’m going to tell you my name, since you’re too shy to ask.”.... “It’s David . . .” He slowly leaned in toward my face, “ . . . and I’m real.”...I suddenly recognized that voice... “I win,” he grinned.”

“I would have been embarrassed to have been caught in such a compromising situation. Promise me you won’t ever kiss me like that again.” He tittered.”
